Maybe things just don’t feel quite right. Come on in to have a supportive chat. You don’t have to read the whole map at once - but maybe it’s time to take the first step?

When is a good time to begin therapy or seek help?

Seeking therapy is not an easy journey to begin. Having time, energy, and financial resources to support you is important. Life can throw us into a place we don’t want to be, and sometimes motivation comes from within. What matters is your openness to inherent strength to face whatever you are struggling with or what you might seek clarity on. It is important that you carve out time to attend your booked sessions and engage in self-reflection and care.

“I have tried therapy in the past, and it didn’t work. Why should I try again?”

Acknowledging that not every therapist is for everybody, I encourage you to try again. In therapy, one size does not fit all; we are all unique people, and it is important to have the right fit for you. The best way to determine if a therapist is right for you is to go in for a visit. To assess, you can ask yourself questions like:

  • Was I comfortable in the therapy space?

  • Was I comfortable during our first session?

  • Can I trust the therapist?

  • Does the therapist demonstrate competency in what I seek help or support with?

  • Did I walk out feeling empowered?

Also note: At Soul•Full Therapy, if I start to get the sense that you are not the right fit for my therapeutic strengths, I will let you know and connect you with a therapist who may be a better fit. I am here to support you on your journey, even if it may not be with me!

What does the first therapy appointment look like?

Being nervous or unsure of what to expect from therapy is very understandable. Congratulate yourself on starting this journey. Everyone is different and walks with different struggles, concerns, life difficulties and goals. Before your first session, we will email some initial paperwork for you to complete and return. The first session usually involves getting a little bit of information about you and why you are seeking therapy at this time. This session will also allow us to start creating a safe space and therapeutic relationship. The goal of this first session is for you to get a feel if the therapist is the right fit for your goals.

“How often should I attend my therapy sessions?”

The success of therapy largely depends on the strength of the therapeutic relationship. Building trust takes time, so it is important to attend sessions to gain traction on your presenting issues.

Meeting weekly or bi-weekly is optimal. Choosing to meet monthly or more can stretch out your healing process but also give room for you to reflect and process.

Ultimately If you are unsure, connect with your therapist to discuss the best timeline for your goals.

“How will I know when it’s time to end therapy?”

This varies from person to person and has a variety of factors to consider. Some people will find a few weeks is sufficient, others will continue for months, and others will continue to see a therapist for years. As change and healing are gradual, it looks different for everyone. It is important to continue checking in with your therapist to ensure the work you are doing together still benefits you and, if not, tweaking it.

Does Soul•Full bill for insurance purposes?

Soul•Full Therapy does not directly bill for insurance, as provider plans and coverage can vary for each client I work with. Please connect with your insurance provider regarding coverage inquiries.

What is Soul•Full’s Cancellation Policy?

If you are unable to attend a session, please let me know as soon as possible via email. I understand some things may get in the way and life is busy; however, if you do not cancel/reschedule at least 48 hours in advance, you will not be reimbursed for the initial paid session fee.

Why 48 hours, you ask?

From a soulful perspective, there can be parts of ourselves that are scared to move forward in change. When taking on new challenges or exploring outside our comfort zone, we humans self-sabotage from fear of the unknown. A 48-hour window allows time to tackle some of that anxiety and find the courage to step into our own power.

What is the parking situation at Soul•Full’s location?
